The End User License Agreement

The custom setup screen, which allows for changes from the default configuration of VirtualBox.

The disk space view. Tells you the amount of space needed for the installation, and shows you the list of available disks and the one chosen by default. This can be changed by selecting a different disk.

Another customer setup view. This one lets you choose if you want an icon on the desktop, or on the quick launch bar, or both.

The infamous warning on the network interface. Click yes one you are sure that your computer is not currently accessing the network. You may also abort the whole installation at this point, whether you are not comfortable with this action, or you just need to postpone it because of other activities on the computer involving the network.

Ready to Install!  Once you are ready, go on and push the Install button.

Now the installer starts doing its magic, basically copying all the necessary files in the installation directory, and so forth.

Since this installation was done on Windows XP, and since VirtualBox is not certified by Microsoft, this screen tells you about “the great dangers” of not using Microsoft software.

End of the installation. It is your choice now whether to just exit the installation program or also start automatically VirtualBox.

Once you decide to start VirtualBox for the first time, you’ll be greeted with this screen, asking you to register the product with “Sun”. It is your choice: if you decide to hit the Cancel button, you’ll be brought  within the program anyway. Registration is not mandatory.

And finally we see the first screen of VirtualBox. It is empty now, but is waiting for you to start installing other Operating Systems like MS-DOS, Linux, MacOS, whatever you like.
